CERTIFICATIONS

Certification for private label beauty

Have you considered putting a certification on your private label skincare or cosmetic product? Certifications can be a well-known symbol for many consumers and an indicator that a product meets certain specific requirements.

Why use certifications?

It can be a competitive advantage to use certifications since certifications for some consumers are an important touch point when they buy personal care products.
Certifications make it easier for consumers to identify your products’ claims and can help communicate your overall brand strategy and values. A brand that sells allergy-friendly skin care will benefit from having a certification, such as Allergy Certified on their products, to reassure customers that the product meets some high standards in allergy-friendly skin care.

Types of certifications

Nordic Swan Ecolabel
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the official sustainability ecolabel for products from Nordic countries. The purpose of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel is to make it easier for the consumer to find environmentally friendly products. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel ensures that the product’s whole life cycle lives up to highly sustainable standards.

AllergyCertified
AllergyCertified is an international allergy label.
Products with the AllergyCertified logo may not contain any known allergens, and every ingredient is carefully examined before a product is allowed to use the logo.

Asthma Allergy Nordic
Asthma Allergy Nordic is a nordic asthma-allergy label. It is a collaboration between the Asthma and Allergy organizations in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. The products with the Asthma Allergy Nordic label contain no perfume and have undergone a critical assessment of the recipe.

Halal Certified
A product with a Halal-certified label means that the product is permissible or acceptable by Islamic law. Halal is an Arabic word and means permissible.

ECOCERT Cosmos
Ecocert is a recognized certification that is used internationally on beauty products. The Ecocert certification is a guide for the consumers to see if a product is organic or natural.
Ecocert has two different certifications, COSMOS ORGANIC and COSMOS NATURAL, which distinguish between the standards for organic and natural certifications.

A product can be COSMOS ORGANIC certified if:

  • 95% minimum of the plants it contains are organic
  • At least 20% of organic ingredients are present in the total formula (10% for rinse-off products)

Certified Vegan
Certified Vegan Logo is a registered trademark. Products approved to carry the Certified Vegan logo must not contain ingredients from animals or by-products from animals.

The Vegan Society
The Vegan Society is an authentic international vegan standard. Products with the Vegan Society label are free of all animal use, ingredients, and testing.
